About YOGUE Yoga

/system/images/0000/0316/birth_goddes_2.jpg

YOGUE Yoga is a non-impact strengthening and stretching system based on the principle of resistance and relaxation and is practiced with the YOGUE Strap. It makes yoga more accessible for beginners, seniors and people recovering from injuries or with limited mobility. The assistance of the YOGUE Strap makes it possible to hold a pose longer, with less effort. Concentrating on the breathing is improved, because the body relaxes into a stable and aligned position supported by the YOGUE.

The YOGUE Yoga method is recommended for daily practice in the morning and evening, for a minimum of 5 to 10 minutes. You will notice the benefits instantly and feel relaxed and calm. The YOGUE Strap eases tense muscles, relieves tension and tightness, tones up internal organs, and improves strength, flexibility, balance and relaxation.

The YOGUE Strap is made of 100% hemp and has 8 symmetrically placed loops. The arms, legs and feet can be placed into different loops for various yoga poses and exercises, while lying down, standing or sitting. The opposing forces assist the body in becoming strong and limber, as well as allowing deeper relaxation into a pose.

The diverse applications of the YOGUE Strap and the modification within each pose, are accomplished by choosing the right loops. This allows you to adjust your body's position for your needs and comfort. Experience a relaxed and rejuvenating form of yoga with the YOGUE.

The Inventor

Perdita Chan-Rouse is the inventor of the YOGUE strap and YOGUE YOGA poses. She developed them while running a successful yoga business in Santa Barbara, which she grew from zero to a studio with employees, serving a large clientele from Santa Ynez to Montecito.

In her practice she saw a need for a method that allows practitioners to hold yoga poses longer and more easily, to experience deeper relaxation and a greater reduction of physical discomfort, than is possible with traditional yoga practice. This led her to develop the YOGUE Strap, for which she received an US patent.

In addition to certification as a Yoga Instructor, Perdita is a certified Massage Therapist and has developed an innovative combination of yoga and massage, called Yogasage.

Perdita holds a Master in Fine Arts degree (MFA) from the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna, Austria, a Certification in Social Work from the Academy of Social Sciences in Linz, Austria, and was a Fellow in Postgraduate Studies at the San Francisco Art Institute.

Before becoming interested in the healing arts, Perdita held both technical and creative positions in the film and theatre world, including assignments for Austrian and German television, the International Festival for Art and Technology in Linz, Austria, and the International Film Festival in Berlin. Her independent accomplishments in this area include video installations and computer animation.

Her strong background in art and her experience designing costumes, sets, and masks enabled her to conceive and manufacture a product that is not only practical but attractive.

Perdita is living and working in Los Angeles and available for private and group sessions. See ongoing classes and upcoming workshops by clicking here.
